Sarah Videos!!!

Hey everyone! Sorry its been so long since my last post. I am coming soon with more photos of , who else, Sarah Grace Dean! I have some cute ones, too. :) For now I am working on uploading the best of videos of Sarah from the past 6 weeks or so. I am posting them on David's youtube page:

http://www.youtube.com/user/ddeanUNC

So just click on that link to see them! It took me a while to figure out how to use our video editing software so the files would be small enough to upload to the web with our super-slow internet here, but today David and I got it all figured out. So, uploading videos should become a more regular thing! I am also adding a permanent link to the youtube page to this blog, so folks can check that site regularly for new videos. Enjoy!

What have we been up to??

Wondering where I've been the last week or so? Well, we found out the day after my last post that David's parents and younger brother were getting on a plane in 24 hours to come and visit us!! The trip had been in the works for months, but faced SOOO many obstacles along the way! It is literally a miracle that they are now here with us! So, when we finally heard the news they were actually coming, we rushed to get packed and buy plane tickets and make hotel reservations to meet them in Beijing. We had a great weekend sight-seeing there, and then came back here Saturday night. From Sunday till now we've been introducing them to the city where we live and enjoying their wonderful company! For photos from out trip to Beijing and more details on the Deans adventures in Asia, check out my father-in-law's blog:

Hopefully, you'll be hearing more from me soon!

He is the King

One of the things I have been doing recently, since I became a stay-at-home-mom, is listen to sermons online. Its hard to sit down and open the Word, but listening is hands-free, which is perfect when you have a little one who constantly needs to be held or nursed or diapered or whatever. Just so you'll know, my mom friends here have all been doing this for a while, this is not something I came up with. Anyway, I heard a fantastic Palm Sunday sermon this afternoon, and I just have to share the link with you:

The theme is on Christ's kingship, and it is simply a beautiful and powerful description of what it means that Christ is our king. The church is Seven Rivers Presbyterian in Orlando, and the pastor, Ray Cortese, is someone David randomly found online and now we listen to sermons from him all the time. Anyway, if you have a free 45 min or so, give it a listen!! Your soul will thank you. :)

Arranged Marriage

As soon as Sarah was born and we knew she was a girl, we had a future husband picked out for her--Jack Huffman! He is two months older, and the most adorable chubby little blue-eyed blonde! His parents, Andy and Erin-Ashley have been David's and my best friends for nearly a decade now, so it just makes sense that the Huffman and Dean clans should be joined someday! The pair were introduced just after the Huffmans got back to Asia two weeks ago, but Saturday night was the first chance we had to snap some photos.

At first Jack and Sarah showed no interest in each other whatsoever.

Then Jack grabbed Sarah's arm to show what good buddies they will become, a move that Sarah appreciated.

Romance, however, was not on the agenda. As soon as Jack took Sarah's hand, she fell fast asleep with boredom! :)

Carolina Girls

In honor of Carolina's ascent to the final four, Sarah and I got all decked out in our UNC gear this morning! We got a couple of photos before the game got started and David got totally distracted. Still, I know he appreciated the school spirit of his two best girls:

A Whole Lotta Kids

Last night our good friends the Huffmans hosted a "Baby Bash" to celebrate the four babies that have been born this year to our group of friends in our city. Jack Huffman was born on Dec. 11, Sarah was born Feb. 7, Zane Smith was born Feb. 26, and Isaac Kvernen was born March 16! There will be another little boy added to this bunch in mid-June when my good friend Kayla Rupp gives birth to her third. I know what you are thinking--"Whew! That is a lot of kids!" You have no idea. Those are just the newest additions! There are 8 others, and they are all four years old and under! So we took the opportunity of the Baby Bash (which, by the way, has kind of a morbidly violent name . . . unintentionally, of course!) to snap this photo of all 12 kids:

Sarah is near the middle, wrapped in a pale green blanket. Her current best buddy, Kayleigh Greene, the adorable curly-haired red-head, is holding her. It took quite a bit of effort to take this photo by the way! I can't believe no one is crying and we got them all to sit on a couch long enough for all the moms to scoot out of the shot so the dads could snap the picture!

For Aunt Bethany

Sarah's Aunt Bethany (she's actually her Great Aunt, but that makes her sound old, which she isn't, so let's just go with Aunt Bethany) knitted a beautiful blanket for her and sent it in a package all the way across the world! So when we finally recieved it this week, I was sure to take some photos of Sarah wrapped in it that I could include with the thank you email. Well, these turned out so cute, I just had to share them with the world! Enjoy!
