More Sick Days Photos

So these are a couple more random photos from our two plus weeks of spending most of our time at home sick. The first is a picture of Sarah in her new high chair, which my mom requested:

The second was a very common sight at our house during the height of the sick days period:
We spent a lot of time on the couch. Thankfully now we are feeling mostly recovered, and this week has actually been super-busy--no time for any scenes like what you see above. We have re-entered the world of the healthy at full-speed!

Leprechaun

I know I just recently posted some cute pictures of Sarah covered in peas, so I am risking over-doing the Sarah-covered-in-baby-food theme of blog posts, but these were just too cute NOT to post. As you can see, Sarah had carrots for dinner, and managed not just to get them all over her chin and nose, as usual, but to even get them in her eyebrows, giving her this adorable leprechaun look:
Sorry these two are out of focus. Sarah is loving the camera these days and decided herself to move her face closer and closer--the camera's auto focus just couldn't keep up!

Sarah Knows . . .

What Cute Is.

We think Sarah is beginning to realize she is cute and play it up a bit. She poses for photos these days. See these shots as evidence. :)

Scooter

So for about a month or so now Sarah has been able to get up on all fours and rock back and forth like she was just so-so-so-close to crawling. So we have been long anticipating the day. About a week ago, she started scooting, mostly backward across the floor when she was trying to go forwards. This resulted in her ending up stuck in some unanticipated spot, like half under the coffee table with her front half sticking out; or half under the sofa with her front half sticking out; or half under the curtains, with her front half . . .

As of today, however, Sarah can move forward. Oh the trouble she has gotten into today!! She is not 100% crawling just yet, sort of half-crawling/half-scooting but she can now decide where she wants to go and make it there in a few seconds, which is pretty much going to revolutionize her life and ours. Sorry no video of this yet--the video camera battery needs to be charged. But I promise video of her "crawl" soon! First on the list--BABY PROOFING!!!!

Sick Days

Sorry its been forever since the last post! At the end of August we went out of town for a few days, and when we came back all three of us were under the weather with a bad cough and just general yuckiness. None of us are completely better yet, though we are all soooo ready to be. In any case, the last couple weeks of our lives consisted of basically a lot of time at home and just trying to get better. It also involved a couple of less-than-great trips to the local doctors to try to get some medicine, but I have ranted to pretty much anyone who would listen about those and I just don't feel like dredging up that frustration again. So instead I'll just post a couple of cute recent photos of our darling Sarah. More photos from our very boring days of self-quarantine at home in the days to come. :)
Strawberry PJs. So cute.
Just love those gray eyes!

Back in Town

David, Sarah and I just got back home from being out of town for a few days. We went to a city about an hour's flight north of here for some "work" related stuff, can't go into more details on the web. In any case, I wish I'd taken more "travel" photos during the five days we were there, but I just have these few pics of Sarah. But they are cute, so I thought I would share!
On the flight there, the airline insisted we fasten Sarah in with a special seat belt that hooked on to David's seat belt! We had never seen such a contraption before, though we've flown here in Asia many, many times (I get exhausted just thinking about how many . . . ). Maybe there the new thing? Are they using these in the States these days?

Either way, we were happy to comply especially since our flight had been delayed two hours because of bad weather at our destination, and then we sat on the runway for quite a long time--we were just happy to be in the air! However, we got about halfway into our 55 min. flight, and the plane makes a 180. The airplane had the little map thing on the tv monitors so we could see--the plane was headed back to the city where we live! You can imagine my feelings. Then the plane turns again, headed back to our destination. Relief. Then again, back home . . . Making circles like this for 30 min. No announcement on the P.A. or anything to let us know what is happening (that is the silly sort of thing us Americans have come to expect--those in authority over us to fill us in on what is going on). Then after all that the plane starts heading for our destination. 20 min later we are on the ground and the weather is sunny and clear and gorgeous!! Hence Sarah looking adorable in her sun hat:

The highlight of the trip, for me at least, was getting to spend time with good friends. Here is Sarah with Zane, my good friend Anita's son who is 2,5 weeks younger than Sarah, though I think he's a little bigger than her! He has the most adorable little baby mohawk!!
Finally, here is Zane, Sarah, and Zoe, another child of my good friend Karis, who is 17 months old. I can't believe how tiny Sarah looks here!
